To support artists and also better understand the potential of NFTs and the blockchain technology more generally - 50 NFTs have been minted on the Algorand blockchain and will be offered for free to 50 curious audience members as part of a pre-sale ticket offer.

Algorand was founded in 2017 by MIT Professor Silvio Micali, and is intended to solve the blockchain trilemma: the claim that any blockchain system can have at most two of three desirable properties: decentralization, scalability, and security. Algorand is an energy efficient blockchain due to the way that transactions are validated (Pure Proof of Stake). The small carbon footprint of this distributed ledger is offset by its partnership with Climate Trade.

On the day of the performance, audience members will receive an e-mail notification with details of how to view their NFT, which will consist of a one-off audiovisual piece created by AAO Artistic Director, Peter Knight, and featuring performer Dung Nguyen. This video will not be available on any other platforms.
